Changelog

What changed on this site, and when.

The terminal

A terminal floats at the bottom of the page. Every click is typed before it happens — open a post and the command cat posts/the-slug.md flashes centre stage, then the post grows out of it; close it and cd .. does the same. The prompt is real, too: type help.

  • Amber prompt, blinking block cursor, faint scanlines; the page stays paper.
  • The path follows you: ~, ~/posts, ~/projects.
  • Start typing anywhere and the prompt takes it. ls, cat, cd, whoami, clear… and a few you'd expect to be refused.
The canvas

A redesign: one quiet column of text on faintly dotted paper, and the page behaves like a web editor's canvas. Hover a post and it gets the inspector's dashed box with a little label; click it and it opens as a window over the page. Grayscale only, IBM Plex Sans to read, Departure Mono for the labels.

  • Windows still drag, snap, resize from any edge and remember where you left them.
  • The open post stays outlined in every list underneath.
  • No themes, no icons, no clocks — just the words.
First boot

A brand new tonylea.com, rebuilt on DevDojo Sites as a classic Macintosh desktop. Every page is an icon, every icon opens a window, and the windows drag, zoom and remember where you left them.

  • Posts, About, Projects, Changelog and Newsletter on the desktop.
  • Ten posts moved over from the old site, images included.
  • A dithered portrait, a striped title bar, a live clock in the menu bar, and a Trash that is always empty.
The old site signs off

The previous tonylea.com ran on DevBlog for years. Its posts are all here; its serif has retired.
